Goa CM: Manohar Parrikar, Parsekar likely to succeed him

The incumbent chief minister will resign on Saturday after a meeting of the central parliamentary board of BJP in New Delhi. A meeting of the BJP legislature party will be held here to choose his successor.

During the meeting, three names — state health minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Speaker Rajendra Arlekar and deputy chief minister Francis D'Souza — were shortlisted for the top post, sources said. (PTI)

Parrikar said that he will resign as chief minister of the state on Saturday after the parlaimentary board meeting in Delhi. "After my resignation as the chief minster, within two hours we will finalise the name for the post of the new chief minster," he said on Friday Parrikar has also convened a cabinet meeting today to discuss the political situation in the state.
