WPL 2024 final: Pictures from the winning moment as RCB beat DC by 8 wickets to clinch maiden title

A 16-year-long trophy drought was finally broken as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final of the 2024 Women's Premier League (WPL). RCB defeated DC by eight wickets to lift the giant WPL trophy at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on March 17, 2024. RCB were initially staring at a huge total after DC openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning got off to a blistering start, smashing 64 runs in 42 balls. But a quick over from Sophie Molineux, where she picked three wickets in just four balls, left the home team wounded. They could secure 113 runs in 18.3 overs. It was easy work for Smriti Mandhana's side for their 114-run chase. A wonderful first-innings performance from RCB's spin attack helped them win their first-ever trophy as a franchise. Chasing the modest total, Mandhana, Sophie Devine and Ellyse Perry made significant contributions to guide RCB to a comfortable victory. Meanwhile, Shreyanka Patil won the purple cap and Perry finished as the Orange Cap winner.
